Central Excise Co-operative Credit Society

The Central Excise Employees’ Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., Kochi -18   ( Reg. No. E-674)  is an  autonomous unity of the  employees of Central Excise Department spread all over Kerala State.  It was established in the December, 1979 by the founder members under the eminent leadership of Sri. K. Sankara Narayanan to meet the economic, social and cultural needs of its members through jointly owned and democratically operated enterprise. This Society was originally envisaged as a mechanism for pooling the resources of the members and providing them with access to different financial services like provision of loans to members, perform savings related functions, promote saving schemes etc.

The Society which flagged off its voyage with 210 members on board in 1979 proceeded its sailing for the past 35 years and at present it is sailing with about 1318 members on board and during its sailing so many senior members alighted at different destinations.

The Society at present provides different welfare activities for its members, financial support by way of loans up to Rs. 15 lakhs, promoting savings attitudes among the members by operating Savings Bank, Recurring Deposits, Monthly Savings Scheme, Fixed Deposit Schemes, Medical Insurance Schemes, Life Insurance Schemes.  It has at present a total turn-over of about Rs. 32 Crores
